OLD IGNATIAN ASSOCIATION
Old Ignatian Rugby
Last season the 1st XV held its place in Division 1 of the Herts/Middlesex County Structure and enjoyed fixtures against such famous clubs as Richmond and London Scottish. They can confidently claim to be the strongest side in the borough, and are only a single promotion away from elevation to the prestigious Regional League Structure. All the other sides also had winning seasons.
The final phase of their building project is now underway, which will provide extra changing facilities etc., and enable the Rugby Section to progress its youth programme. To enhance the development of youth rugby, six current first team members are taking coaching courses. With a team of coaches and facilities to match, they expect to be able to strengthen their existing Under 14,Under 15,Under 16 and Under 17 squads leading into their Colts which are already well established and successful.
We have inaugurated a Past v Present trophy known as the President's Shield that so far has been won more times by the Present than the Past.
